March 30th 'Menus for the Mind' Luncheon to
Feature Linda Ellerbee
Cedar Knolls, NJ (March 2, 2006) – Linda Ellerbee, respected and outspoken broadcast journalist, writer, producer, breast cancer survivor and mother, will be the featured speaker at the 'Menus for the Mind' luncheon on Thursday, March 30. The event takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will be held at The Fairmount Country Club, 400 Southern Boulevard, Chatham.
Linda Ellerbee is currently best known as the host and producer of the Emmy Award-winning Nickelodeon series Nick News and its controversial specials on subjects such as AIDS and homelessness in America. Her most recent novel, Take Big Bites: Adventures Around the World and Across the Table invites readers to join Ellerbee in celebrating personal milestones, special places, and exquisite cuisine. In Ellerbee's own words, "Adventures around the world, across the table – and from the heart. There's a connection. A memory of a different place an unfamiliar taste, and old friend, a new love; the root word is passion. I may be coming on to sixty, but there are still places to see, meals to eat, adventures to be had, and memories to be made. Come along for the ride, the food, and the stores. Go ahead. Take big bites."
'Menus for the Mind' is an annual series of three lecture luncheons. The series was created to benefit P.G. Chambers School, a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive early intervention programs, special education classes, physical, occupational and speech therapy sessions, as well as specialized services including sensory integration therapy and augmentative communication assistance.
"We are thrilled to welcome Linda Ellerbee as our featured speaker in March," said Susan Seamans, Executive Director, P.G. Chambers School. "Linda's thirst for adventure and strength in the face of adversity challenges us all to take a look at our lives and how we can make the most of them with the gifts and talents we've been given – in spite of the obstacles along the way."
'Menus for the Mind' is sponsored by local corporations who give back to the communities in which they live and do business. This year's sponsors include sanofi aventis, Pfizer, The MCJ Foundation, and The Walsh Family.
The cost of attending the March 30 'Menus for the Mind' lecture/luncheon is $125 ($35 of which is tax-deductible) and reservations are required. For reservations or more information, call P.G. Chambers School at 973-829-8484.
