Support P.G. Chambers School
Since its founding in 1954, P.G. Chambers School has been a leader in the field of special education and therapeutic intervention for children with disabilities. Our mission is to help children with special needs lead fuller, more productive lives, develop confidence in their own abilities, and engage as fully and as frequently in the community at large. At the same time, we also advocate for opportunities that enrich the lives of all children.
The School's special education and therapy programs for multiply disabled youngsters reach more than 600 children and families from all parts of northern New Jersey each year. The School has helped thousands of children with special needs gain confidence, function independently, and integrate into our community.
P.G. Chambers School is one of the region's most important community organizations, earning the support of esteemed individuals from both the private and public sectors. It is also a first-choice referral for most area physicians, hospitals, school districts and community social service agencies.
Our Growth
In 1993, Chambers School moved from its original building, which served the needs of the organization for more than 30 years, to a newly-renovated, state-of-the-art facility in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. However, for the next several years, the School's average rate of growth was nearly 60% per year. With that level of community need, it did not take long for the School to reach capacity.
In 2003, with the generous support of individuals, corporations, and foundations from the community, P.G. Chambers School completed a 22,000 square foot addition to its facility and expanded programs, once again, to meet the ever-increasing needs of children with special needs and their families.
Chambers School now employs more than 125 professionals and related staff and manages an operating budget of $7.5 million. Approximately 70% of the budget is funded through tuition and fees, 20% through contributions, and 10% through government grants. P.G. Chambers School relies on contributions from individuals, foundations, and businesses to continue its valuable work with the children from our community.
How You Can Make A Difference
- Support P.G. Chambers School's Endowment Campaign and ensure that our programs and services for children with special needs are here for decades to come. Gifts to our Endowment Fund are restricted, and conservatively invested to protect the principal. At the same time, the interest earned on the Fund provides a valuable funding stream for current programs and services.
- Fund Important Capital Projects by making a gift to help us maintain the state-of-the art quality of our current facility, and prepare for future expansions to meet the ever-increasing needs of our community.
- Contribute to our Annual Fund and directly support our special education and therapy programs for children with special needs. Your gift will directly support scholarships for children and programs where fees, grants and our own fundraising efforts still do not cover the entire costs.
