7th Annual PGCS Walk.Run.Fun.5K!
The sun was shining brightly on June 2, 2019 for the P.G. Chambers School 7th annual Walk.Run.Fun.5K but the brightest part of the day was seeing the smiles on children’s faces as they completed the Children’s Race! This year our community of sponsors, donors, and participants came together to raise over $45,000 at this event to support P.G. Chambers School! Thank you to everyone who helped make this incredible day happen.
Each year, the Walk.Run.Fun.5K begins with a 5K walk/run beginning at Ginty Field in Morristown, New Jersey. Many of our school families, staff members, and supporters create individual teams and complete the course together. After the race, there is an awards ceremony to acknowledge our top-finishers and our top fundraisers. Participants can create fundraising teams for PGCS and ask their network to donate to their team. This year, our top fundraiser was PGCS staff member, Patti Stenzel, who raised over $2,500. Way to go, Patti!
Following the awards ceremony, there is a short children’s race, when children of all abilities participate together. Family and friends line the street to cheer the children on and every child receives a medal at the finish. This is truly the highlight of the event every year, to witness the children demonstrate their determination and perseverance.
