Paper Mill Playhouse’s Alice in Wonderland Brings Joy to Students

On February 11, our Middle School students enjoyed a live performance of Alice in Wonderland by the Paper Mill Playhouse’s Children’s Theatre on Tour. This performance followed a 10-week residency at P.G. Chambers School where students had the opportunity to explore acting and storytelling. Thank you to the Paper Mill Playhouse team for fostering our students’ creativity and helping to build their confidence!

Nancy Altshuler awarded the 2025 Kerry Magro Special Education Grant

Congratulations to Nancy Altshuler, Physical Therapy Clinical Coordinator at P.G. Chambers School, for being recognized as an inaugural recipient of the 2025 Kerry Magro Special Education Grant!

Nancy has spent the last 35 years shaping the lives of students through the power of movement. As an award recipient, Nancy hopes to bring more resources into the classroom, including adaptive equipment that will be utilized for therapy services at the School and in Community Services.

Join us for Menus for the Mind on Thursday, April 10 at the Park Avenue Club, featuring fabulous food, a silent auction, an incredible raffle prize, and more in support of our shared cause: discovering the unique potential within every child.

The Golf Classic will take place on Monday, May 19 at the Rockaway River Country Club. Join us for a fun and meaningful day on the golf course in support of the educational and therapeutic needs of children with complex disabilities.

P.G. Chambers School Staff Present Innovative Work at Leading National Conference

Four P.G. Chambers School staff led successful presentations about the innovative work that is happening at the School at the 2025 Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA) conference in Orlando. For 25 years, the ATIA conference has been the nation’s leading learning event for the assistive technology community.

The presentations included:

  • “Are Your Students Ready to Learn? Steps for a Power Mobility Initiative” presented by Tracie Murray, PT, ATP, and Ashley Rivera, PT, DPT, ATP
  • “Learning Nutrition and Building Friendships through Accessible Cooking” presented by Dana Hall, M.A. CCC-SLP and Jen Jacobs, M.S. CCC-SLP

P.G. Chambers School remains committed to supporting the professional development of our staff. Attendance at conferences provides staff an opportunity to learn about new research and advances in technology while also building networks with professionals from across the country.
