On the Green for PGCS!

On the 9th day, of the 9th month of 2013, PGCS held their 9th Annual Golf Classic at Roxiticus Golf Club. While some of the players may have wanted to only count 9 holes of their score, everyone had a great time at the event.

As players were pulling up to check-in, drop off their bags, and purchase raffle tickets, they were greeted by PGCS students, Zoe and Erik, who shook their hands and said “Welcome! Enjoy the day!” From the sound of golf carts buzzing and golf clubs swinging during the day, to the laughter and conversation in the evening, the overall theme was a day filled with fun, knowing that all would benefit a great cause.

In the evening, event chair and PGCS Board Member, Eric Monsen, honored Thermal Service of NJ for their support of the event for the past nine years. Sam Dalfonzo and John Karcher from Thermal Service were presented with a trophy in appreciation of their continued support. Thermal Service has been a consistent top sponsor of the event since its inception in 2004, donating over $45,000 throughout the years.

Our keynote speaker this year was, PGCS Board member, Tom Walsh, who spoke to the guests about his involvement with the school, from his first introduction over 10 years ago. “When I came to this school, I knew little about disabilities, but I stayed. I stayed because it gave me so much more than I gave it.” To this day, Tom continues to support the school because of our commitment to education, innovative therapies, and to making a positive impact on the lives of children.
