Feeling Grateful

To Do Lists . . . We All Have Them.

At this time of year, it is easy to get consumed by your to do lists.  Planning holiday gatherings and gifts, sending cards, decorating, baking, attending activities for children and grandchildren, taking care of pets, grocery shopping, shoveling (for some), and the list goes on and on.  While the satisfaction of accomplishing your list may make you relieved and exhausted, it may not bring you joy.  And isn’t that what life is all about?  So I offer a simple solution to the holiday madness:  Take the time to reflect on what makes you grateful because gratitude brings you and those around you joy.  Don’t worry about that extra calorie, enjoy that holiday cookie.  Appreciate your family, friends, and colleagues and take the time to embrace the special everyday moments that make you smile.

I am grateful for many things in my life.  I am blessed with a loving family, wonderful friends, and an inspiring job at P.G. Chambers School (PGCS).   I am touched by those around me for their commitment to others.  Our PGCS staff members are dedicated, talented individuals who care so deeply for every student and every family.  Our parents go above and beyond to help their children be all they can be.  And the ongoing partnership of our community of donors and friends enables our students to thrive.  Perhaps most importantly, I am grateful for our PGCS children who teach us every day about what is important.  Let us all learn from them and slow down to enjoy the magical moments that make us grateful.

May the joy of gratitude touch your life this holiday season and throughout the year!

This is so true Kathleen. It’s often hard to ‘stop and smell the roses’ at this time of year. This is a good reminder.
