Taping to Improve Alignment, Strength and Function in Children

Location:

This course will provide the skills needed to enhance therapy outcomes in pediatric clients. Learn how to utilize a combination of taping and strengthening techniques in this practical, hands on course.  Unlike many other taping courses, in this course we will practice with a variety of adhesive and non-adhesive materials to achieve improved alignment and functional outcomes.  Strengthening strategies will be presented to enhance the new alignment achieved through taping. Examples of intervention with children through videotape and case studies will reinforce learning.

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to understand:

  • Theory and principles of taping as adjunct to therapy
  • The role of strengthening as it relates to enhance taping results
  • Kinetic taping (neoprene, lycra,  Thera-togs, Hip Helpers, body suits, Superwrap)
  • Techniques using therapeutic elastic tape
  • Rigid Taping for the trunk, shoulder, lower extremities, feet, ankle

The continuing education hours obtained at this course qualify toward NDTA re-certification.
